ParlayAPI for students

• A free API key: 1,000 credits per month, no credit card. Live odds from 30+ sportsbooks across 90+ sport keys: moneylines, spreads, totals, player props, plus arbitrage and positive EV finders. Sign up, then hit GET /v1/sports/basketball_nba/odds.
• Keyless endpoints for demos: GET /v1/sports, GET /v1/try/{sport}/odds, and the /v1/sandbox/* family work without any key, so a club workshop can start before anyone signs up.
• Open datasets for coursework: our sports-odds-datasets repo on GitHub (CC BY 4.0) has Super Bowl LX closing lines, a full 15-game MLB day, and a 50,000-row sample of player prop closes. Plain CSVs, loads with pandas.read_csv, includes a worked example script.
• Tooling: a Python SDK (pip install parlay-api), an MCP server for AI-assisted analysis (pip install parlayapi-mcp), and docs written to be copy-pasteable.

Honest limits of the free tier: the historical lookback window is 48 hours, streaming (WebSocket and SSE) is a Business-tier feature, and 1,000 credits is plenty for a weekly notebook but not for a high-frequency collector. • roughly how many credits you think the semester needs

The founder reads every one of these. We are a small team, so student credit grants are handled case by case per semester rather than by an automatic form, and we would rather under-promise here than let you down mid-project.
