Limit

A limit is the maximum stake a sportsbook will accept on a given market from a given account. Limits vary by book, sport, market, time-to-kickoff - and, at retail books, by how much the account has been winning.

In practice

Sharp books raise limits as an event approaches (a major football side may take five figures near kickoff) and treat limits as uniform policy. Retail books do the opposite: accounts flagged as value-takers get cut to token amounts - the practical ceiling on every +EV and arb strategy. A price is only as good as the stake you're allowed to place at it.

Where it shows up in ParlayAPI

Limits are account-specific and books don't publish them in odds feeds, so no API can quote your limit. What the feed does tell you is where liquidity lives: markets with tight prices at sharp books are the high-limit ones, while obscure props with wide prices are exactly where books quietly take small maximums.
